Garden landscaping

This is a project that I undertook for one of my early clients. Having had the house extended and modernised they wanted the front garden landscaping to provide a low maintenance, gravelled area with a space for the car.

The base was extended at each end to move the original shed 40cm towards the fence. 100mm of rubble was then topped with 100mm of concrete to provide a base to match the existing shed.

This also shows the increased storage.

Shed extension

This is a slightly unusual project. With the change in usage of the garage this client needed to store the bikes in the shed and couldn't find a bespoke solution. Rather than buying a whole new shed, an extension was designed to fit the requirements.
The base was extended and the size more than doubled to accomodate upto 4 bikes with access through double doors in the end wall.
The existinmg shed remains in tact and has increased shelving above the bike wheels.

Clearing the fence line needed trees to be cut down and root balls ground out

Fences

With the storms of each winter there is no shortage of fence repairs.
From 10 panel runs to repairing of broken posts with a repair spur all can be undertaken.
Here the ground has been cleared of several bushes, two tree roots, two large compost bins and an old wire fence before installing new panels along the bottom of the garden.

Decking

Many people consider improving their garden with decking. This client decided to do so after an old lean to greenhouse collapsed.
The base for the decking was uneven having the green house slab and two levels of patio slabs, with a difference in levels of nearly 25cm. To get a level deck it was decided to raise it to provide a continuation of floor level from the back door.
The bushes were removed, waste pipes reconfigured along the house wall and the deck and steps all custom built. There will be a new fence soon and the wall is to be re-painted once a new door has been fitted.
